I’ve turned into the classic “Inevitable Slacking Blogger”. I.S.B. as I like to call it, not to be confused with I.B.S. (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), comes on quick without warning (as does I.B.S.). I started out this blog strong, sharing meaningful thoughts and rich life experiences which of course translated into full robust content of which you, my audience, were the partakers. Month after month, I was able to deliver the goods, but more recently I have acquired some bad habits that have proven to have very ill side effects on my blog life (yes I have a blog life. I’m a loser I know). I’m sad to tell you guys that my blog life has been reduced to wearing it’s underwear all day, only getting out of bed (from watching reruns of TNT dramas) to fetch a fresh bag of Cheetos & new 12 pack of Mountain Dew (Code Red). How did this happen?!
Look, this is how my blog life appeared when I started:
Gone are those days!
This is my blog life now:
So what were the bad habits/changes that led to my blog life’s cheeto munching flaccid state ?!? (thank you Caleb Jordan for the new word)
- Jim has become a professional Graphic Designer. A graphic designer spends a lot of time on their computer. Jim has developed a love/hate relationship with his computer and because of this, he’s starting to lose interest in “blogging” or “posting an update on his website”. It kinda feels a lot like work. ugh….
- Jim signed up for FACEBOOK again (see my previous facebook rant here). Jim justified this action because as a professional Graphic Designer, he thought it might help him land a client. As a freelancer, Jim knows he should make the most of every opportunity to get his name out there! 7 months later, Jim hasn’t landed one client because of Facebook, but he is a level 7 pirate zombie farmer who’s racked up 500 something “friends”.
- Jim has rediscovered his love of guitar. This is a big blow to Mr.Blog Life. This means that now when he’s not playing his guitar or learning songs for the weekly gig, or not on Facebook, or not designing a website (and is by some miraculous turn of events is still on his computer), he’s probably listening to youtube clips of guitar pedals and amps or He’s on eBay/Craigslist looking to buy that sweet new piece of gear.
“blog? what blog? oh wait, I think I remember that. something about ‘roots or grubs’ right?”
*file this post under: i’m so cool.

Bwhahahahaha! jim, this post made my night! now off to do my own share of blogging.
“flaccid” makes me giggle.
Dip puff Cheetos in sour cream. It’s now your new evil vice, and you don’t even know it.
