My pedalboard since the summer has looked something like this. The signal went like this:
BOR–>Teese Picture Wah –>EB Volume–>Boss Tuner–>Boss Tremolo–>MXR Carbon Copy –>Line 6 DL-4.
Now that I’ve been playing more at church where we play with a click and prerecorded loops, I’ve noticed a few problems with this setup:
I’ve found need for more than one overdrive sound.
I haven’t been using the Teese Wah.
I wasn’t using the Carbon Copy though it sounds awesome, but I like having a tap tempo.
Playing with the loops and click tracks, I was never sure of my delays were quite in sync. Especially if I wanted a dotted eight delay.

Here is the current pedalboard setup:
BOR–>BB Preamp –>EB Volume–>Boss Tuner (Volume Tuner Out)–>Boss DD-20–>Boss Tremolo.
I traded the DL-4 for the Boss DD-20. The DD-20 allows you to set your delay time to Beats Per Minute so now I can perfectly sync my delays to the loop and click tracks.
I traded the MXR Carbon Copy (delay I wasn’t using) for an Xotic BB Preamp (another overdrive). I now set the Z Vex BOR to a crunch tone, then I set the BB Preamp for a more saturated gain setting for lead tone.
The Tuner is now hooked up to the Volume Pedal’s tuner output. I now leave the tuner always on. Before it was actually in the chain, sometimes I would hit the tuner and pull the volume pedal back, just out of nervous habit. That would require two foot strokes to get the signal back on. Now it’s one foot stroke.
I also took the Teese Wah off since I wasn’t really using it.
Eventually I’d like to get one of these. It’s midi programmable loop switcher for a fair price. It allows you turn on any combination of pedals on in a signal foot stomp. That may not seem like such a big thing, but when you are playing & singing the last thing you want to do is tap dance to get the right sound out of your gear.
